Postgraduate
Courses
The university has about 20,000 students in total with nearly 4%
of these enrolled in PhD and Masters programmes. The Department of
Mathematics and Statistics has a strong postgraduate programme and
has an international reputation for academic excellence and achievement.
The Department has strong research programmes in the
areas of combinatorics, graph theory,
discrete optimization, applied mathematics, numerical analysis,
operations research, probability theory and statistics.
Some of the research projects of the school attract external competitive
research funding and consultation funding.
Research and Postgraduate Courses available:
Studies for MSc by Thesis or PhD may commence at
any time of the year and there is no deadline for applications.
All other graduate programmes involve some coursework and thus
commence at the start of the academic year.
There is a Postgraduate
Coordinator who is responsible for all the graduate
programmes offered by the Department.
