On Friday, 2 September, 2005, Peg-Foo Siew lost his battle with cancer.
He passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was deeply respected by
friends, colleagues, and students alike, for his tirelessness
service to others and his gentle, good-humoured manner. This is an excerpt
from his last Linear Algebra unit outline:
Consultation Times:
Drop in to say hello if you come by building 314. I am always available,
unless I am teaching or have to attend a meeting.
At the time, he was Undergraduate Course Coordinator for the Department of
Mathematics & Statistics at Curtin University of Technology.
His area of research was mainly in mathematical modelling and he was
particularly
interested in confined viscous flows, electromagnetic response of a
non-homogeneous earth and the use of symbolic algebraic computation (in
particular, Maple) in both teaching and research.
There is a list of some of his papers,
with the accompanying abstracts, and a fuller listing of his publications
in his curriculum vitae.
