ABOUT ME:

V. G. Rumchev received his M.Sc. (Hon 1st Grade) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Systems and Control) and his PhD degree in Applied Mathematics both from St. Petersburg Technical University (Saint Petersburg, Russia). The Supreme Testimonial Committee of Bulgaria awarded him the highest academic degree of D.Sc. in 1993. He worked for the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics at the Technical University of Sofia (the largest university in Bulgaria) for a number of years.

Dr. Rumchev has held Visiting Professor Positions with Coventry University and Brunel University, and Visiting Research Fellow Positions with Imperial College and Coventry University, all in the UK.

In 1995 V.G. Rumchev joined the School of Mathematics and Statistics in Curtin University of Technology at Perth, Western Australia.

An author and co-author of 6 books and over 160 research papers published in archived journals and conference proceedings. V.G. Rumchev has an extensive consultancy practice in mathematical modelling, optimisation-based computer-aided modelling and design, applied systems analysis, decision-support systems for manpower planning and others. His current research interests include positive system theory and its applications (production systems, telecommunications, biomedical systems, artificial life and robotics among others), constrained linear systems (reachable and controllable sets, feedback stabilisation) and the applied aspects of optimisation and optimal control.
