Mathematics Scholarships

Up to three Curtin Mathematics Scholarships each year, worth up to $3,000 per annum, are available for students who

  • are TEE applicants,
  • are Australian citizens or permanent residents,
  • choose one of the course/majors listed below as their first preference, and
  • are accepted into the course chosen as a full-time student.

The following three-year degree programmes are offered leading to the Bachelor of Science in:

  • Bachelor of Science (Actuarial Science),
  • Bachelor of Science (Mathematical Sciences Major),
  • Bachelor of Science (Industrial Modelling and Optimisation Major),
  • Bachelor of Science (Actuarial and Applied Statistics Major),
  • Bachelor of Science (Applied Statistics Major),
  • Bachelor of Science (Mathematical Sciences and Computing Major), and
  • Bachelor of Science (Mathematical Sciences and Finance Major).

Also available are the four-year double degree programmes in:

  • Bachelor of Science (Mathematical Sciences) & Bachelor of Education (Secondary Education) and
  • Bachelor of Science (Mathematical Sciences) & Bachelor of Commerce (Finance).

The scholarships are awarded on academic merit only, and generally close around 10 February in the year for which they are offered. Download and read the application form and conditions for the scholarships as a

Mathematics is the basis of modern technology, on which the new economy is founded. There is a strong demand for mathematics graduates in all areas of modern business and industry. Mathematics is also vital in many areas of computing such as security, and in actuarial science, engineering, finance and marketing.
